The foundation Tees are coming this Valentine’s day! We are celebrating American Heart Month and the beginning of my newly established Bonics’ Heart Beats foundation!
We just sign, sealed, & delivered paperwork with the state! So we are definitely in the baby stages of this. These shirts will be the building blocks to something great!
The proceeds of this will go to a “to be announced event” in the summer promoting Heart Disease Prevention and Awareness.
The name Kid@Heart is inspired by my 18yr cousin Christian James of Philadelphia who will launch the KID@HEART brand this spring.
Thanks to vitaminTHICK for coming with a great design and overall “piece of art” on shirt.
Also follow our official Blogspot which will tell the story of building this thing! Thanks to Jaime Dougherty who is assisting me in buidling the foundation! Click below for details!
Our (rough) mission:
To educate young adults on the dangers of heart disease, the need for early detection and the importance of establishing a healthy lifestyle. The foundation will promote the cause through unique methods aimed at adults under forty and will provide financial support to individuals who cannot afford proper care.
On Thursday, December 2, Brandon “DJ Bonics” Glova was rushed to a Pittsburgh hospital after
experiencing extreme pain and discomfort in his shoulders and chest. Glova had returned home from a
60 city tour as the DJ for emerging hip hop MC Wiz Khalifa just two weeks prior, and despite being only
30 years old, he was having a heart attack.
“I had never experienced such a combination of pain and fear. They called it a heart attack; I call it a
harsh reminder of how sweet life is,” Bonics recalled.
Since recovering from this life-threatening episode, Glova has created the Bonics Heart Beats
Foundation, which will promote heart health and a healthy lifestyle specifically to adults under the age
To build some momentum for the Bonics Heart Beats Foundation and further the cause, Glova has
enlisted vitaminTHICK, a street lifestyle fashion company out of Boston, to collaborate on a special
edition t-shirt design. The concept for the shirt, entitled “Kid@Heart,” is inspired by the importance of
remaining youthful in both thoughts and actions, advice by which Glova now lives.
“When we were younger, we would run around and play as if we were invincible,” said Glova. “Too
often as adults our health becomes an excuse to not be active or live a healthy lifestyle, which is
exactly what we are hoping to change. With the vitaminTHICK brand being dedicated to the spirit of
childhood, and the company having ties to Pittsburgh as both of the owners are Carnegie Mellon grads,
I felt that this partnership would be perfectly aligned.”
The shirt design features a proud kid clenching a lunchbox by his waist. His silhouette, which is filled
with an image of the universe, represents the endless possibilities and dreams associated with youth.
The character’s oversized glasses are a playful reference to Glova’s signature style.
Andrew Shedd, vitaminTHICK’s Creative Director, further elaborated on the project, “Fans and culture
junkies alike often perceive talent like Bonics in a limited capacity in comparison to his true depth of
character. Bonics’ experience was a very human one, and the “Kid@Heart” concept captures that
human element with a degree of warmth and sensitivity that really resonated with us. Responding
proactively as he did with the intent to deliver a message that has such a genuine earnestness and
positivity speaks to that depth of character in a way scarcely touted in mainstream media.”
The Bonics and vitaminTHICK “Kid@Heart” collaboration t-shirt will retail for $26 and goes on sale this
Valentine’s Day (2/14). It can be purchased online at www.timebombshop.com, and in stores at
Timebomb and Shop412 in Pittsburgh, and Bodega in Boston. The proceeds will be donated in their
entirety to the Bonics Heart Beats Foundation, and more specifically to supporting community events
this spring, which will promote heart heath awareness and an active lifestyle.

Well another epic week for the GANG. We made our first appearance on Late Night TV! George Lopez invited us to perform Black and Yellow and of course, there’s no way we could turn this down. From performing in Heinz field a few days ago to flying all the way to Hollywood, The Gang has made leaps and bounds! It’s a surreal feeling to be able to perform on a show like this! What’s funny is though that i was never really nervous. It feels natural to be on stage and perform! Even a better feeling was to watch it air later that evening. It gave me goose bumps seeing the whole thing come together! But the best feeling of it all? Hearing from people all over the country who watched and congratulated us! I am so humbled and thankful for these opportunities and there’s no way it couldn’t happen without YOU the fans!!!! Thanks to George Lopez, Atlantic Records, and of course WIZ for letting this happen. BELOW is the LINK to photos of the day. and also some candid pics shot by yours truly. ENJOY
Wiz signed George Lopez’s “Season 2” Guestbook
George left WIZ a little note as well!
Back Stage GANG!
Alright where do I begin. The last 48 hours have been, to say the least, memorable. I’ll keep it simple. On Saturday we had a sold out show in Peoria, Chicago! A few hours after the show we took a private plane to PGH to perform at the AFC Championship in Heinz Field. Going to the game and performing was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! The Steeler organization were so welcoming! I really have to hand it to them for having open arms to our Taylor Gang movement. I feel as if they have been waiting for something like this. Something that appeals to the younger generation. I got to introduce WIZ in Heinz field! This wasn’t just our biggest performance, The Steelers Set a new record with over 60.000 people in attendance!
After we performed Wiz and Pittsburgh Native Billy Gardell got to do the official Myron Cope Terrible Towel Twirl!!! Right after that back to the plane to go to Bowling Green University to perform for the kids. Below are some candid shots of the past 2 days! Be sure to check out the PHOTO GALLERY for more photos…
Oh yeah did I mention that the STEELERS WON!!!! hahahah we are going to THE SUPER BOWL BITCHES… and not to mention we already have a sold out show in DALLAS the Friday before the SUPERBOWL!!!! OH MY!!!
Amber Rose, Wiz and the GANG on the Private Jet to the AFC championship!

Gangsta WILL with the Plane Pic
1 show in Cincinnati and 2 shows in Cleveland! Our neighboring state to the left showed mad love for the gang…! We played at Bogart’s in Cincy and the House of Blues in Cleveland. Each show sold out! I was a little worried about performing Black & Yellow in the BROWNS territory. I got a little video that will show you the outcome of both Cleveland shows. None the less we do it again! Sold out shows out the MOFO!!!! We got to go to Cleveland radio station Hot 107.9! We are back in Ohio on Sunday at Bowling Green. Shout to my dj’s Steph Floss, Donkis, and EV.
PICS PICS PICS of course!
2 days 3 shows in Michigan last week. Saturday we played 2 shows at the Royal Oak Theater. Sunday we rocked Kalamazoo! Feels great being back on the road. A lil’ rusty from the hiatus but by the last show things are back in full swing. Michigan has always been a great place to perform lots of fans! Even through this cold ass weather! Another interesting thing is watching the Playoff’s unfold as well. Can’t help but root the Steelers on obviously! And with the success of BNY it’s almost too perfect! Another win means the song keeps pumping! Except in NY … lol…
Yes 2011 if officially started and Wiz, me, and the gang begin the year with a short 2 week tour to kick it off! We start in Indianapolis. It was a great 2 sold out shows. And no Black And Yellow backlash for our Playoff Dominance. lol. The shows were insane. and everyone showing us love! Here are a few flicks form the night! We even got to meet Grandmaster Dee from the legendary Whodini who himself drop some knowledge for Wiz.
2nd show in INDY ends with your hands up!
Grandmaster Dee of Whodini
