This is the third time this event has been done! I know it seems kinda of crazy 33 Dj’s on one bill. It comes down to like 8 minutes each dj starting at 9, but that’s not the point obviously! It’s to celebrate the life of Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein. If you are not familiar with him he’s basically the modern day father of DJing. He took a craft that has been around for a few decades and was able to reinvigorate it with his creative mixing style. I never was able to experience it first hand. True story is that day he died me and a buddy DJ Nugget were supposed to see him at the Palms. Seriously, the day I was gonna see him live for the first time he was found dead in his apartment. That weekend I ended spending time with his close friends in LA by chance. And to see the impact that he had as a friend and a DJ was just incredible. For that coincidence and also both of us being from Philadelphia I drew a personal connection with him. I may have not been able to see him in person but to know that we both share the same craft and to know that it is possible for me to influence peoples lives as he did through music is an incredible. He’s overcame some many personal hardships to get to where he was. He’s a kid from Philadelphia with a knack for music. As I am.
The event is an incredible thing. It reminds me of how lucky we are in PGH to have such a great close DJ community. This is an event for the old and the new dj’s. It’s an opportunity for us as DJ’s to come together and celebrate the life of DJ AM.
If you are in the burgh tonight I suggest to stop down and see what kind of picture each DJ can paint, how each DJ pays homage musically as they interpret their connection with AM.
Below is my video from the first tribute. This was around the time where too where I started to invigorate myself and being back the excitement of DJin. Thanks to Digital Dave for making this event possible! Thank to all the PGH dj’s for their support and keeping this craft alive and a big shout to DJ AM for touching so many peoples lives and being an inspiration to all!

Fellow blogger/promoter/ambassador of Toronto Lola borrowed my camera and took a bunch of flicks at the our 1st night at the Sound Academy in Toronto on 9/26. Below are some pics from the show and a link to her full post! Too bad there are no pics of me… Thanks Lola 😀 …
On Monday & Tuesday, Wiz Khalifa made the Toronto stop of his Rolling Papers tour. With two sold out shows Back to Back, Wiz left his fans screaming louder with each song. Though Big Sean wasn’t a part of these shows, attending Taylors were more than satisfied with Wiz’s 1 hour set with DJ Bonics on the 1 and 2’s. Khalifa’s performance didn’t lack energy, nor diversity.
Another trip to Toronto means another scratch session with the Legend Scratch Bastid and a special guest feature by 2 time 3style Champion Dj Mensa! Wow! So humbled to be able to scratch with the homies. Scratch for Play!
Here’s the original Video that me and Bastid did last time I was in Toronto!
A few weeks ago,,on September 12, a good pal of mine Elliott Yamin came through Pittsburgh and rocked at the Pittsburgh Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square. Yamin was a top 3 finalist on American Idol Season 5 and recorded the hit R&B single “Wait For You.” I met Elliott shortly after Season 5 at the radio station when I was doing nights. Since then we’ve kept in touch and he has been an amazing friend ever since. I especially am so drawn to his voice! So soulful from a non suspecting guy. He’s got that Donny Hatthaway sort of thing.
Here’s a funny story of that day. Elliott called me to let me know that he was in town. I told him that Colby Caillet was in town performing as well. Elliott hit up Colby. Colby asked Elliott to perform “Realize” with him. And a few hours later I caught myself filming this epic and first time event at the Carnegie Music Hall of Homestead!
Also at the end of performing “Wait For You” Elliott shouts me out. Definitely worth checking out below!
Peep the pics and the vids! Thanks to Elliott, Colby, Samantha Brenner, and my dood Roy Martin Smith from the Hard Rock Cafe!

While I was in Tampa last week i got to hook up with Big K.R.I.T. at the Kennedy. If you didn’t know K.R.I.T. and his crew joined us for the Waken Baken Tour last year. K.R.I.T. and Wiz are some of the leading
“New School” rappers and it’s great to see both of their careers take off! I talk to K.R.I.T about his album and he was excited for his fans. I think it was projected to come out in September but it may come out later than that. K.R.I.T. also expressed that it was important to keep his music genuine. He told me that the label tried to pair him with an R&B singer for a song and he didn’t think that was a good look cause that’s not what he or his fans are use to. Love to see artist stand there ground. Cy-Hi the prince also opened up. Glad to see him show some love to the new upcoming rappers! He even gave Wiz some love too! Enjoy the pics and the Video! Big shout to K.R.I.T., Big Sant, Dutch!
So on Sunday in Tampa I got to rock at OLD DIRTY SUNDAYS. ODS is an “Open Format” party rooted in Funk and Hip Hop, but basically you can rock anything you want to! Very similar to the World Famous “Do Over” Party of the West. If you ever are in the Tampa area on a Sunday this is a must! On top of the music there are artist there selling artwork and doing artwork live. There also were some really talented B-Boys and B-Girls getting that crowd Hype! Thanks to Dj’s Lesage, Casper, Mega, Blenda, and of Course Dj Ku!
