Alright where do I begin. The last 48 hours have been, to say the least, memorable. I’ll keep it simple. On Saturday we had a sold out show in Peoria, Chicago! A few hours after the show we took a private plane to PGH to perform at the AFC Championship in Heinz Field. Going to the game and performing was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! The Steeler organization were so welcoming! I really have to hand it to them for having open arms to our Taylor Gang movement. I feel as if they have been waiting for something like this. Something that appeals to the younger generation. I got to introduce WIZ in Heinz field! This wasn’t just our biggest performance, The Steelers Set a new record with over 60.000 people in attendance!
After we performed Wiz and Pittsburgh Native Billy Gardell got to do the official Myron Cope Terrible Towel Twirl!!! Right after that back to the plane to go to Bowling Green University to perform for the kids. Below are some candid shots of the past 2 days! Be sure to check out the PHOTO GALLERY for more photos…
Oh yeah did I mention that the STEELERS WON!!!! hahahah we are going to THE SUPER BOWL BITCHES… and not to mention we already have a sold out show in DALLAS the Friday before the SUPERBOWL!!!! OH MY!!!
Amber Rose, Wiz and the GANG on the Private Jet to the AFC championship!
Back to work in Bowling Green University!
Back at the RAVE in Milwaukee, Wizconsin and another sold out show! Almost 5,000 tickets sold tonight! It was incredible! Plus a special treat Amber Rose came out during the Black and Yellow performance!

1 show in Cincinnati and 2 shows in Cleveland! Our neighboring state to the left showed mad love for the gang…! We played at Bogart’s in Cincy and the House of Blues in Cleveland. Each show sold out! I was a little worried about performing Black & Yellow in the BROWNS territory. I got a little video that will show you the outcome of both Cleveland shows. None the less we do it again! Sold out shows out the MOFO!!!! We got to go to Cleveland radio station Hot 107.9! We are back in Ohio on Sunday at Bowling Green. Shout to my dj’s Steph Floss, Donkis, and EV.
PICS PICS PICS of course!
2 days 3 shows in Michigan last week. Saturday we played 2 shows at the Royal Oak Theater. Sunday we rocked Kalamazoo! Feels great being back on the road. A lil’ rusty from the hiatus but by the last show things are back in full swing. Michigan has always been a great place to perform lots of fans! Even through this cold ass weather! Another interesting thing is watching the Playoff’s unfold as well. Can’t help but root the Steelers on obviously! And with the success of BNY it’s almost too perfect! Another win means the song keeps pumping! Except in NY … lol…
Yes 2011 if officially started and Wiz, me, and the gang begin the year with a short 2 week tour to kick it off! We start in Indianapolis. It was a great 2 sold out shows. And no Black And Yellow backlash for our Playoff Dominance. lol. The shows were insane. and everyone showing us love! Here are a few flicks form the night! We even got to meet Grandmaster Dee from the legendary Whodini who himself drop some knowledge for Wiz.
2nd show in INDY ends with your hands up!

Wiz with Rayne 100.9
A double sold out show is not surprising for Wiz and the Gang these days. Last night we performed for the first time in 2011. Selling out the first night in 4 days at the Old National Center in Indianapolis seems like an easy task these days. And despite the football rivalry between the 2 cities, that won’t stop the love for music between Wiz and the Taylors! With another show tonight, we filled our day with some radio & TV visits. First we checked out Indy’s Music Channel, a local music video show. Shortly after we stopped by HOT 96.3 and NOW 100.9. Nice to meet some of the DJ’s in the city and see their approach to radio. Some of you may not know that I was did radio in PGH for 7 years. My most recent position was Music Director and Afternoon host for 96.1 KISS Pgh. Being on the artist side is definitely a different take. Cool to see how other jocks prep their interview and how they carry it out. Below are some shots of the day. But make sure you check out the photo gallery! Shout out to RIO, Rayne, & B-Swift. Got a fun video of interview w. Rayne coming soon.
Thanks for checking in!

This past Tuesday I got to check out the, as a Village Voice Blogger Put it “The Slightly Ridiculous McDonald’s ‘Flavor Battle.'” Slightly ridiculous it was. (on Many Levels). Big up to the Dj’s of the “Flavor Battle” who each represented a portion of the country. Hella Yella (Austin, TX) repped the West Coast. StephFloss (Cleveland, OH) – Midwest. And Jayceeoh (NYC, PGH, BOS, CA) – The East Coast. From what I know there was a voting process to get into each round. People voted online to vote for the DJ of Choice. The with the most votes in each division would decide the finalist for the battle.
I’ll just put it out there. I’ve been friends with Jayceeoh for a minute now. He has a been a well respected Dj, and most recently known for his Super 7 Series. Truly a DJ’S DJ! I took the short trip from Philly to NYC to see this thing go down. And of course I was there to route for him. Despite the favoritism I was ready to see this battle go down. You see, I’m a DJ enthusiast and was excited to see a battle. I’m was ready to see what DJ was gonna bring it.
DJ Irie, Spinderella, and Rich Nice were the celebrity judges. Sway was the celebrity blogger. And Fabolous hosted the event.
I don’t even now where to begin with the night. There were so many inconsistencies and trivial parts of the night that I will just have to write short fragmented details in order for me not to bust a braincell.
The event started with the introduction of the DJ’s Then the celebrity panel. The battle was broken down into 3 rounds. The order of each round went Jayceeoh, StephFLoss, and Hella Yella.
I started writing a whole play by play of each round but it was too frustrating and not worth the time to really go in depth about the ridiculousness of the battle. There was a couple questionable McDonald’s details. But the night fell short on the judges hands. So instead of the full Bonics’ emotional breakdown here is a few short notes.
Jayceeoh clearly was the most versatile, technical, and polished of the bunch. Maybe the only critique would be some over production. Steph Floss had some creative moments but many transitions were sloppy and repetitive. He also played Journey. Hella Yella played some great tracks but seemed the least knowledgeable about “battle” Djing, showed some technical capabilities, and but called out for biting a DJ routine. The judges were completely outdated and only had a few criticisms that made sense. Sway was the only person who seemed to have any knowledge of what was actually going on. Too bad his voice only was seen on twitter.
After the first round which was followed by almost completely irrelevant commentary on the routines, I was more worried that the judges were going to be too unaware to judge this thing fairly. I have the utmost respect to each individual judge but they lacked good judgment to say the least. I would say that the crowd let them know that. But in the end the “no-contest yet nail-biting battle” was won by the obvious overall and best skilled DJ of the night Jayceeoh.
Another winner of the night is the flavor battle time-line during the battle. Search #flavorbattle on twitter to find some of the best real time round tweets. Congrats to all the DJ’s! Getting that far in itself is a accomplishment. Shout out to StephFloss. Cleveland definitely got his back. Shout to my dood Hella Yella, who I seen rock the crowed in Austin’ at the Waken Baken tour. He had one of them nights we DJ’s go through every once in a while. (as I recall my “not to par” performance at 3style Finals last year)
But a big congratulations to Jayceeoh! He killed it. Classic Turntablist approach + Party rocking etiquette + savy serato techniques. Friend or not he was the well deserved winner of the battle.
-Cutting over “Killing Em'” With Fabolous in attendance
-Playing “Where Brooklyn At Break!” in NYC never a disappointment
-Using the “Big Mac” Song in the set. Plus other McDonald’s samples
-Breaking down the “Push It” beat in front of Spinderella
Got to give it to McDonald’s for bringing some excitement and fun to the DJ game. Some tweaks and the event could be even more great! Something I would look into competing in next year! Holler at me Ronald!
P.S. taped a bunch of footage but the new Canon PNS cams audio is wack…!

I think the “DJ Crew” is a lost art. I ain’t mad at individuals who have made a name for themselves. I hope to one day be on that “Legendary Status.” But there definitely was a time where being apart of a DJ crew was the thing for a DJ. Invisibl Skratch Piklz, X-Ecutioners, Beat Junkies, and 5th Platoon (to name a few) were all crews that I looked up to while learning the art of deejaying. I’m talking about ill ass m*thaf*ckin dj crews. Cats who pride themselves on the art of Deejaying. I mean there are definitively “Radio Mixshow / Club” Affiliations. (Core DJ’s / Shadyville) I am proudly apart of the Legendary Violator All Star Dj’s. We just recently celebrated 9 years. I’ve been with them for the last 2. A lot of the team is made of up Mix show dj’s around the country. This is a great way to share contacts, meet cats in other city’s, and to connect and share music and industry.
Recently I was invited to join the Skratch Makaniks Crew!!! Some bomb ass DJ’s I must tell you. Most of the crew is Philly based. And since I was raisedin Philly I definitely grew up to listening some of these Legendary DJ’s! Jay Ski, Aktive, Excel, & Bee just to name a few.
I guess I’m formally saying that I am officially apart of the SKRATCH MAKANIKS CREW!!! Shout out to the crew for making me apart of a prestigious group of turntablist, Dj’s, emcees, and Producers. Seriously some of these guys have been HUGE influences to me. Most of these cats if not all were doing this shit before the digital days of DJing (including myself). What’s this mean for me? Well it just wants me to work harder. I’m totally gonna seek out time with each of these DJ’s not only to build but LEARN and take what I already know to the next level. For those of you youngin’s who don’t know some of these cats. Expect me to help reaffirm that Real Dj’s are who these doods are. Look out for my Bonics meets the Skratch Makaniks Series as I plan to video turntable sessions with each. Thank to Miss Jag for believing. What a great start to ’11.
Below are some links and videos to the CREW!
